Funny how the band never knew they named themselves after some kind of meat.
Wagyu is composed of Robin Nievera (yes, he’s the son of local music royalties Martin Nievera and Pops Fernandez!) on guitars and vocals, Frame Ong on bass and vocals and Pat Sarabia on drums. Their style, Pat says (with much confusion) is a mix of alternative and rock plus jam, Their influences range extensively from The Dave Matthews Band to the Red Hot Chili Peppers to Jojo Mayer to the Fall of Troy.
If you want to check them out, these kids are always rocking up Al’s Bar in Paranaque, Mag.net in Bonifacio Highstreet and Checkpoint.
Support beef, Eat meat. Listen to Wagyu. Now, that’s hardcore carnivore for you.
